Pranav Sahi
Mr. Pranav Sahi is one of the most reputed and highly respected film maker from Eastern India. In the past 26 years he has over 3000 Productions to his credit including many internationally acclaimed films, serials and Documentaries. His area of specialization is social sector and developmental documentary films in which he has won wide acclaim. He is the only Producer / Director from Bihar who has made over 200 films for Government Departments which have been highly acclaimed.   He is basically a Cinematographer and has over 2000 films to his credit including films shot on 35mm film format, 16mm film format, Digi-Beta, Betacam SP and new generation Digital formats. A large number of his films which he has filmed himself have won major awards and recognitions all over the world for Camerawork. His latest film ‘Buddha in Bodh-Gaya 2007’ has been commissioned by Motiroti U.K funded by UK Arts Council and British Council and has been immensely successful in the festival circuit this year.  Pranav Sahi is the General Secretary of the Bihar Filmmakers Association and Ex-Member of the Central Board of Film Certification, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India. He is a permanent member of the organizing committee of the Patna Film Festival organized by the Govt. of Bihar.
 
Technical Qualifications
  • ITVP course from Notre Dame Communication Centre in 1982
  • Attended filmmaking workshop at Festival of Independent Expression at Kolkatta in 1986
  • Was selected and attended workshop on Scriptwriting for developmental films with UNICEF in 1993
  • Studied Non-Linear Editing under special training program of Pinnacle Systems at Delhi in 1999.
  • Attended special training program in Non-Linear Editing techniques in Broadcast Asia -2001
